How do you get your world news on the internet? Through a combination of RSS news feeds and a browser plug-in, you can easily scan and read news headlines in a fraction of the time it would normally take surfing the web.
Step 1: Download Firefox
Mozilla Firefox is currently the best browser for traveling the internet, and has extensive plug-in capabilities. You can download Firefox here.
Step 2: Setup Bloglines
Bloglines is an excellent service for searching and subscribing to RSS feeds. It’s free and easy to use. Go here to setup a Bloglines account. Once your account is ready you can install the Bloglines Mozilla Extension which adds a notifier to your Firefox browser whenever you have unread RSS feeds. Get the Mozilla Extension here.
Step 3: Subscribe to BBC
BBC World News offers the most comprehensive news service in the world. By subscribing to their RSS feed, you can easily scan through new headlines and click only on those which interest you. The URL for the BBC RSS feed is http://newsrss.bbc.co.uk/rss/newsonline_uk_edition/world/rss.xml.
